Immigration Officer: Welcome to AWSchool. The teachers of this school can help you learn everything you need to know to get started building and being a good neighbor in alphaworld.
Teacher: ok Sarah would you like to come over here?
"Sarah": ok
Teacher: can you see the red brick arch?
"Sarah": yeah
Teacher: ok right click on it” Sarah": ok
Teacher: and you will get an object properties box see it?
"Sarah": yep
Teacher: once you have that box........give one tap of your insert key ( on the keyboard, above your arrow keys)
"Sarah": ok
Teacher: then using your bottom arrow key give it many taps ( at least thirty) to bring it all the way over here
Teacher: bring it a little further out you'll need room to work
Teacher: and you cant encroach on the walkway you'll get an error message
"Sarah": ok
Teacher: now to change it right click
"Sarah": ok
Teacher: and backspace the object name( see the name of the arch in the object line?)
Teacher: and then type in walk001.rwx
Teacher: close box (little x in the corner of the box)
Teacher: ok let’s make a wall or two?
"Sarah": sure
Teacher: right click on the walk (floor)
Teacher: and press INSERT once
Teacher: did you notice a little jump as you pressed insert (duplicated)?
"Sarah": ok
"Sarah": yep
Teacher: that’s what I call the dupe jump and it happens every time you duplicate
"Sarah":
Teacher: so to compensate and to help you avoid overlaps its a good idea to get into the habit of pressing your bottom arrow key once after you duplicate
"Sarah": ok
Teacher: so that's INSERT.....bottom arrow key......then backspace object name.... type in pp01m.rwx
Teacher: close box
Teacher: see how it( the new wall ) is positioned in the middle?
"Sarah": yeah
Teacher: that’s because you pulled it back into the middle when you pressed the bottom arrow key if you hadn't it would be offset making the lining up of your wall more difficult
"Sarah": ohhhhhh...............
Teacher: now it will be easy to just right click again and use your arrow keys to move it eight back
Teacher: now for the next wall
Teacher: right click again insert once bottom arrow once......page up SIX times
Teacher: and the eight across and eight back
Teacher: then click the box closed
Teacher: perfect!!!
"Sarah": WOW!
Teacher: now you can repeat that step twice more?
"Sarah": yep
Teacher: and when you have the fourth wall in place we can change it into a doorway
Teacher: great!! Now right click on the side where you want your door to be
"Sarah": ok
Teacher: and (no insert this time) just backspace the ob name and type in pd01.rwx
Teacher: close box
Teacher: that's it!!
"Sarah": :)
Teacher: as you can see it don't fit!! so lets move it (no insert yet) over four taps of side arrow key
Teacher: once you have it in the corner snugly press insert
Teacher: then bottom arrow key once
"Sarah": ok
Teacher: then use side arrow key to move it eight over into the gap and backspace the ob name
Teacher: and type in pw01.rwx
Teacher: close box
"Sarah": amazing
Teacher: perfect!!!
Teacher: and..... for a simple roof lets right click on the floor...
Teacher: insert ONCE bottom arrow key once
"Sarah": ok
Teacher: and use the + key on the far right of your keyboard eight times
Teacher: close box
"Sarah": I can't bring the floor up
Teacher: are you using the + key on the other side of your number pad?
Teacher: the same one you use to fly
"Sarah": there
Teacher: great!!
Teacher: that's it
Teacher: now...... right click on the floor again
Teacher: and press insert
Teacher: bottom arrow once
"Sarah": ok
Teacher: and backspace ob name
Teacher: type in couch02.rwx
Teacher: close box
Teacher: you forgot the insert
Teacher: never mind just right click on the couch
Teacher: you got it
"Sarah": ok
Teacher: ok now just use your arrow keys to put the couch where you want it
Teacher: you can use the shift key to move it in 1/10 shifts
Teacher: shift is good for moving furniture around its not much for building walls and roofs it throws out your count
"Sarah": yeah
Teacher: check its not sticking though the wall
Teacher: these walls are paper thin doesn't take much to poke a hole in them
Teacher: ok want a TV?
"Sarah": ok
Teacher: right click on the floor again etc and make a tv3bs
Teacher: tv3bs.rwx
Teacher: that's it now just copy this into the action line.........create picture 194.121.52.190/VIDEO/grabs/CNN.jpg update=05 Teacher: (to copy from the box where the typing is- highlight it and press ctrl and c
